Microsoft has made the online version of its customer relationship management solution, Dynamics CRM, available in data centres in Japan.

The new service, which was first announced at the end of last year, means that customers in Japan can now move their Dynamics CRM Online service to local data centres, and benefit from high availability and disaster recovery thanks to a financially backed service level agreement of 99.9%, redundancy in the primary data centre, as well as failover to Microsoft’s secondary location, which is also in the region, in the event of a disaster.

The new service, which Microsoft said has been delivered “ahead of schedule”, allows the company to better serve customer needs for data residency.

“This need is paramount, particularly in industries like healthcare, financial services and public sector where regulatory compliance mandates keeping data in country,” said Bob Stutz, corporate vice president of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Dynamics CRM Online joins Office 365 and Microsoft Azure, which are already being hosted from local Japanese data centres.

Microsoft also added that it will be making Dynamics CRM Online available in Australian data centres “soon.”
